Designed after @fairyrodeo and named after an ancient warrior queen, this pair holds a sliver of energetic power. They’re made of recycled Peruvian walnut, hand pounded brass, and rich red poms.

Ayanna is doing some pretty important work- She’s a Permanent Supportive Housing Property Manager. Currently managing a 92-unit hotel converted into housing for formerly and chronically homeless in downtown Sacramento. She and her team just (Dec 2023) finished leasing up all of those units. They’re making a huge difference in the lives of those who need it the most. I’m grateful to know a woman of such strength and compassion.

There are two different lengths of brass suspension for this design (1.25″ or 1.5″) you will receive 1.25″ unless you specify otherwise (see model photos vs product photos).

Call The Midwife

Recycled solid walnut, representing strength and foundation. Five brass rounds, representing courage, humility, awareness, knowledge, and love.

I’ve always wanted to create a design that embodies midwifery. Being a midwife is not just a career, it’s living a real life version of “Everything everywhere all at once.” It’s fascinating and humbling. It’s full of lessons and bears the most juicy, surreal, wild moments a person can experience. As a student of Midwifery, I am constantly learning about all things human. With gratitude, I will forever be a student of this passion.

At this stage, (and indefinitely) I am in absolute awe of the Midwives who teach me. They not only protect the families they serve, but their wings are big enough to cover me too. They share their wisdom, invite all my curiosities, and remind me that there’s a floor in the room.

So this design is inspired by Midwives and all things Midwifery. Thanks to my amazing teachers, the art of Midwifery is passed down and lives on through me and other students.

As a student midwife in California, I work hard to create balance between work and school. Designing and selling earrings is just one of the ways I am able to support myself through this journey to being a midwife and staring my own practice. Thank you for your interest in this art, it means a lot to me.

Capoeira

Made of Bolivian Rosewood. This asymmetrical design was inspired by the story of Capoeira.

Capoeira is a ritual dance that combines elements of acrobatics and evasion. It is known for its complex maneuvers and emphasis of flowing movement rather than fixed stances.

Capoeira was first a tradition practiced in Angola, Africa to channel ancestors and gain a connection to the afterlife. However, this tradition turned into a means of protection when Africans where taken to Brazil during the Atlantic slave trade.

Enslaved Africans would incorporate music and dance into Capoeira to disguise that they were actually practicing fighting techniques.

Manipura

This earring design is made of Peruvian Walnut and brass spears.

Manipura- The Solar Plexus, also known as Manipura, is the third chakra relative to the body in the energetic system. It is located in the pit of your stomach, just below your diaphragm.

This chakra converts inertia into movement and is associated with fire and sun. It's the center of personal power, identity, ego, confidence, authenticity, integrity, and honor.

In order to keep this Chakra in alignment we must live our lives by the tenet of authenticity! This means being completely honest with ourselves in every aspect of life and living with integrity- especially in relationships.

Onaya

Onaya is a Shipibo word used to describe a level of healer. It comes from the verb Onati meaning ‘to know’. This design is dedicated to all the healers out there. Whether it’s sharing rich potions, touching, speaking the truth, guiding by dance, singing to the heart or channeling the divine, you heal with deep rooted wisdom and the world will always appreciate you.

This design is playful and endearing. Made with Ipe wood, adorned with loose strings of rough turquoise beads. Ipe wood is extremely dense with subtle variations throughout the grain.

Forest Fairy

These earrings are especially unique because they are complemented with river stones and bits of moss that I have found while enjoying California's Bear River and the forest that surrounds it. Encapsulated by mahogany and preserved in clear resin, Forest Fairy is currently a hot seller.
